
Volleyball Drops Five-Set Match to Charlotte

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Volleyball played UNC Charlotte for the first time of the 2024 season today and forced a full five sets before ultimately falling to the 49ers. Despite its loss, the Green Wave put up exceptional individual statistics.
The Green Wave came out strong, decisively defeating the 49ers 25-16 in the first set. Though it dropped the second set 26-24,the Green Wave came back to clinch set three 25-21, but Charlotte took the remaining two sets 25-23 and 15-13.
Avery Burks had an outstanding match, leading the team in both kills and receptions with 17 and 36. She also dug 13 digs, second only to Sami Jacobs' 14. Jacobs churned out both offensive and defensive highlights, giving a notable 10 kills and 24 digs.
Jordan White also had a stunning performance, hitting .400 from eight kills and putting up 7 blocks with two solos. She has eclipsed 100 career blocks after her performance today, now sitting at 101. Sabrina Skyers had 12 kills and a block assist, now just nine away from achieving 200 career blocks. Agata Beksha dazzled, notching eight kills, two solo blocks, and three service aces. She is now 4 away from having 200 career kills.
Katherine Crosley logged 27 assists, the most she's provided in five sets this season, along with 11 digs and two service aces. She got to the 700 mark of career assists tonight and now has 716. Zoe Rachow delivered with 24 assists, putting her just 79 away from 1000 career assists. The team also totaled nine service aces, tying their season record.
The Green Wave is now 6-6 in conference play and is tied with Florida Atlantic for sixth place in the AAC.
UP NEXT
The Wave has four matches left in the season, with one at home and three on the road. Volleyball will head to Philadelphia next weekend to play Temple University on Nov. 8 and return home to host Wichita and Senior Night on Nov. 10. Then, their final pair of matches will be away in Florida, where they will play USF on Nov. 15, and Florida Atlantic on Nov. 17.
