Tulane Welcomes ULM for Friday Night Showdown in Uptown

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball will aim for its third consecutive 2-0 start on Friday night when it hosts in-state foe Louisiana-Monroe inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave has started each of the past two seasons and four of its five seasons under Head Coach Ron Hunter with a 2-0 record.

The game between the Green Wave and the Warhawks is set to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on Heaven 106.7 with the voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the third all-time regular season meeting between Tulane and ULM with series tied 1-1. The last time the Wave faced the Warhawks Tulane won the contest 75-60 at home on November 28, 2022. In the only other matchup between the two programs ULM won 95-73 in Monroe, Louisiana on December 28, 1974.

In its last time out, the Green Wave outscored Louisiana Christian by 22 points in the second half of Monday's contest to win its sixth consecutive season-opener 76-42. The Green Wave is now 6-0 in season openers under Coach Hunter with an average margin of victory of 16.5 points in those games.

Four players tallied double figures in scoring against Louisiana Christian led by Mari Jordan with 18 points in his first collegiate game. Kaleb Banks also notched his first career double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Seven players made their collegiate debut and 10 made their first appearance with Tulane in Monday's season-opener against the Wildcats. Four of the seven playing in their first career college game found the scoring column led by Jordan's 18 and another 10 points from Tyler Ringgold.

Louisiana-Monroe enters the matchup with a 1-1 record coming off a 95-60 loss at LSU on Wednesday. The Warhawks are led by Jalen Bolden at 17.5 points per game and Jerry Ngopot with 14.0 points per contest.

ULM is averaging 85.5 points per game this season on 47.1 percent shooting after connecting on a 53.9 percent clip to score 111 points in their season opener against
Champion Christian. The Warhawks were voted to finish last in the Sun Belt Preseason Coaches Poll after ending last season in 12th in the 14-team league.

Following the game against ULM, the Green Wave will finish its opening homestand on Monday, November 11, squaring off with Alcorn State. The meeting between Tulane and the Braves is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
