Green Wave Returns Home to Host Southeastern Louisiana Monday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball will look to end its three-game losing skid as it welcomes Southeastern Louisiana to Uptown on Monday night. The Green Wave has not lost back-to-back home non-conference games since the 2018-19 campaign.

The game between the Green Wave and the Lions is set to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.1 The Ticket and Heaven 106.7 with the voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the 16th all-time regular season meeting between Tulane and Southeastern Louisiana with the Green Wave leading the series 12-3 including wins in the last two matchups. The Wave holds an 10-3 advantage at home against the Lions including wins in the last two contests in Uptown. The last time Tulane lost at home to Southeastern came on December 1, 2018, by a final score of 62-61.

In its last time out, Tulane went 0-2 at the Cancun Challenge at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico. The Wave lost its first game 63-64 to Wyoming on a late three-pointer by the Cowboys on Tuesday and then dropped 66-89 to Belmont in the consolation game on Wednesday. Junior Asher Woods picked up all-tournament honors after averaging 15.5 points, two rebounds, and two assists in the two games in Cancun.

Through November 30 the Green Wave leads the American Athletic Conference in field goal percentage defense holding opponents to 37.1 percent shooting from the field and blocks swatting 6.0 shots per game. Offensively, Tulane rates fourth in the league in free throw percentage at 74.7 percent and assists with 14.25 per game.

Southeastern enters the matchup with a 3-4 record after defeating North Dakota 76-60 in their final game of the Cancun Challenge. The Lions lead the Southland in free throw percentage at 75.2 percent and three-point percentage defense holding opponents to 26.6 perenct from downtown which also rates 23rd in the country.

A trio of players averaging double figures in scoring this season lead the way for Southeastern. Sam Hines Jr. leads the Lions in scoring and rebounding with 14.3 points and 7.1 boards per contest. Jakevion Buckley and Jeremy Elyzee complete the trio scoring double-digits averaging 12.0 and 11.5 points, respectively.

Following the game against the Lions, the Green Wave will travel to Fairfax, Virginia, to face George Mason on Saturday, December 7. The matchup between Tulane and the Patriots will tipoff at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
