Tulane Closes Non-Conference Play with Dominant 99-56 Win Over Dillard

NEW ORLEANS – A night full of career performances fueled Tulane men's basketball (6-7) to a 99-56 victory over Dillard (7-6) on Friday night inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse to conclude the Green Wave's non-conference slate. Four players set or tied career highs in scoring as the Wave recorded season bests in points and field goal percentage as a team.
With the victory, Tulane improved to 6-2 at home this season and 5-2 all-time against the Bleu Devils. The win also marked the third consecutive year the Green Wave has ended non-conference play with a victory.
Nine different players found the scoring column for the Wave with Kaleb Banks leading the way with 21 points. Banks also added 13 rebounds to record his sixth double-double of the season. The Hampton, Georgia, product did the majority of his damage at the charity stripe as he went a perfect from the free throw line making a career-best 14.
Gregg Glenn III was one of four players for the Green Wave to set or match a career-high in points in the contest. Glenn III finished the night with 20 points to go with five boards. Kam Williams matched his career-best with 19 points and five made three pointers. Redshirt freshman Tyler Ringgold had his best game of the season as he tallied 16 points and six rebounds. The last player to match his career-high was Logan Stephens who ended with four points off the bench.
Rounding out the top performers for Tulane were Rowan Brumbaugh and KJ Greene. Brumbaugh flirted with a triple double as he recorded 10 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. Greene made the first field goal of his Green Wave career as he finished with two points and a career-high five assists.
As a team, the Wave shot 50.8 (31-61) percent from the field and 93.3 (28-30) percent from the free throw line. Tulane dominated Dillard around the rim scoring 44 points in the paint and pulling down a season-high 51 rebounds.
After Tulane and Dillard went back-and-forth over the 12 minutes of the contest, the Green Wave mounted a 15-1 run to take control with a 39-25 lead. The Wave pushed its advantage to 16 points with under a minute remaining in the half before taking a 45-29 lead into the break.
Tulane continued to impose its will on the Bleu Devils in the second half scoring 14 unanswered to extend its advantage to 35 points with under 10 minutes to play. The Green Wave went on to lead by as many as 45 points in the closing minutes of the game before ultimately winning 99-56 over Dillard.
Up next, Tulane will open American Athletic Conference competition on the road against Charlotte on December 31. The game between the Green Wave and the 49ers is set to tipoff at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
