IRVING, TX - Tulane's Kendall Sneed and Amira Mabry were each honored by the American Athletic Conference on Monday for their outstanding performances last week at the Tulane Holiday Tournament. Inside Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse, the Green Wave defeated Alabama A&M 53-46 and ULM 68-63.
Sneed was named the league's Freshman of the Week after averaging 13.5 points and four rebounds. She scored 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting with five assists in the win over ULM. This is her third such honor after winning on November 25 and December 2.
Mabry was named the tournament's MVP after averaging 15 points and eight rebounds for the weekend, which included a 21-point, 12-rebound effort against the Warhawks.
The Green Wave (7-4) will begin its conference slate on Sunday when it takes on Florida Atlantic at 1 p.m. CT.
