
Tulane Drops Regular Season Finale at Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – No. 73 Tulane University women's tennis (11-8) fell on the road to No. 47 Memphis (15-6) 4-1 Friday evening to close the regular season. The Green Wave won the doubles point for the second match in a row, but this time was unable to maintain the momentum into singles play.
The action started in favor of the Wave as the pairing of Lahari Yelamanchili and Kristen Borland notched their seventh consecutive win in doubles at court one 6-4. Tulane went on to clinch the doubles point as Cora Baber and Mackenzie Clark teamed up for their 12th victory at court two winning 7-5.
In singles play, the Tigers claimed the momentum on their home court by winning the first set on five of six courts. Charlotte Russell was the only member of the Wave to win her first set. Clark bounced back in her second set on court two with a 7-6 win in a tiebreak, but Tulane was unable to change the tide on courts one, three, four, and six as Memphis took the point on each of those courts.
Up next, Tulane will head to Dallas for the American Athletic Conference Championship which begins on Wednesday, April 17.
