Tulane Closes Day One in Ninth at AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Tulane University women's golf sits in ninth place at the end of the first round in the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championship at the Southern Hills Golf Club on Monday. The Green Wave closed the round nine strokes over par for a round total of 297 as a team.
Senior Miriam Emmert led the way for the Wave finishing her first round with an even par 72 to sit tied for 18th overall. Emmert tied for fifth in the first round with five birdies and was one of four players for Tulane to finish under par on the par fives.
Matilde Innocenti followed carding a 74 (+2) through the first 18 holes of the tournament. By shooting two under on the par fives she landed tied for 30th overall.
Closely behind Innocenti was Julia Sanchez Morales with a 75 (+3) in her first round in Florida. She tied for second on the team with three birdies which helped her end the day tied for 35th overall.
Rounding out the day for the Green Wave were Cleo Liu posting a 76 (+4) and Ruhee Pandit carding a 77 (+5). Liu tied for the best score on the par fives shooting three under as she finished the day tied for 42nd. Pandit posted pars on 11 of 18 holes in the first round to close the opening day tied for 53rd overall.
Tulane will return to the course Tuesday morning for the second round of the AAC Championship. The Green Wave is scheduled to begin teeing off at 7:50 a.m. CT.
