
Track and Field Has a Strong Opening Day in Iowa

Des Moines, Iowa / Indianola, Iowa – Zander Dunbar placed third in the 800m on the opening day of the Drake Relays to lead Tulane's track and field program at a pair of meets in the state of Iowa on Thursday. The program also was represented at the Kip Janvrin Open on the campus of Simpson College.
Dunbar ran a 1:49.56 in the 800m. His time ranks him fourth all-time at Tulane in the event just ahead of Chauncy Brinn's 1:49.71 from 1979.
Roman Schrader finished 17th in the 800m with his 1:54.56.
Paul James Pam placed 21st in the 5000m with his 15:15.41.
Reese Ragland took 14th in the 1500m with her 4:33.72, while Paula Vaquera placed 21st in the same event with a 4:36.71.
At the Kip Janvrin Open, Alex Sharp ranked 15th in the women's 5000m with her 17:51.18. Albert Tawil-Brown ran a 15:34.56 in the men's 5000m.
On Friday the program will continue competing in the Drake Relays and the Kip Janvrin Open on Friday plus sends a delegation to compete in the East Coast Relays in Jacksonville, Florida.
