Green Wave Concludes Competition in Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Tulane recorded three top-10 finishes on the final day of the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track Facility Saturday as the Green Wave wrapped up action in the meet. Alongside the top finishes, Nahema Dumonteil Cabanas recorded a top-10 all-time mark in program history in the 400m hurdles.
Presley Wolfe started the day on the right note for Tulane as she placed fifth in the pole vault for the lone top-five result today for the Wave. She delivered a mark of 3.72m. Cara Salsberry added to the strong field showing for Tulane with her hammer throw of 57.46m, which placed her ninth. Her mark would be second all-time at Tulane if not for her own measure from last week. Highlighting the Wave's performances on the track were Zaria Parker and Nahema Dumonteil Cabanas. Parker placed eighth in the 200m with a time of 24.09 for Tulane's lone top-10 in a track event today. Dumonteil Cabanas ran her way into the record book in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 1:00.69 placed her 15th in the event, and it's the eighth-best time in program history.
The women's 4x100m relay team of Bella Carroll, Cosette Fleury, Parker, and Brianna Brand placed 24th with a time of 48.31. Four Tulane athletes ran in the women's 800m, led by Elena Liano-Rengel. She ran a 2:09.70 to finish 35th. Jasper Newton was 68th with a mark of 2:11.56. Maria Alduan placed 102nd with a time of 2:13.65, and Eliza Brand was 116th with a mark of 2:14.35. Parker's performance in the 200m paced a quartet of Tulane runners. Behind Parker were Marissa Gordon and Carroll, who ran 25.57 ad 25.58, respectively. Gordon was 110th with Carroll one spot behind her. Sofie Groeninger finished 145th with a time of 26.41.
Not many men competed for Tulane today, but the majority of the men's contingent for the Wave hit the track in the 800m. Roman Schrader led the way among five Tulane runners with his time of 1:53.33, placing 91st. Samuel Cohen was one spot behind with a time of 1:53.34, a new personal best. Jalen St. Fort ran a 1:54.56 for 136th, and Gilbert Rono placed 139th with a mark of 1:54.62. Finally, Daniel Reza ran a 1:56.29 to finish 180th. Rounding out the competitors for Tulane is Andrew Bamberg, who placed 85th in the 200m with a personal-best time of 22.59.
The season continues next weekend with the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas. The three-day event is hosted by Texas State and begins on Thursday, April 2.
