Men's Tennis Closes Out Home Slate with Second Win Over UNO
Apr 5, 2024 | Men's Tennis
New Orleans - Men's Tennis closed out their 2023-24 home schedule on Friday with a 5-2 win over UNO to improve to 7-11. It was their second home match against UNO this spring season, with their first ending in a 6-1 win for the Green Wave.
Tulane started of strong in doubles, taking the point easily after 6-0 completed in just 14 minutes by Petrovic/Scherer on court three, followed by a 6-2 set courtesy of Jacobson/Suarez on court two. No. 71 Bancila/Hoeijmans would finish their set only one minute after, earning a 6-1 win on court one. The momentum only continued during singles, as the Green Wave would take four straight matches on courts three through six to clinch the match plus one. The Privateers showed up to fight, though, forcing a third set on courts one and two after Suarez and Bancila each took the first set. Unfortunately, UNO overcame the deficit to win the tiebreaker set and take two points on the day.
The Green Wave will return to action in a week on the road to take on Memphis.
