Volleyball Begins Conference Play With Two-Match Weekend

NEW ORLEANS โ After finishing the non-conference season with an 8-4 record, Tulane Volleyball is set to begin conference play. The Green Wave will have two matches this weekend, first hosting Rice University and then traveling to face the University of North Texas (UNT).
Tulane will take on Rice at home on Friday, September 27 at 2 p.m. The Green Wave will then hit the road to play at UNT on Sunday, September 29 at 1 p.m.
Over the past 40 years, Tulane has played Rice 30 times, winning 14 of those encounters. Other than a matchย last season, the teams last met in 2013.
Rice, originally projected to finish first in the Preseason Coaches Poll, currently sits in fifth place with a 5-4 record. The Owls have faced several ranked opponents this season, including Creighton and Baylor.
Tulane has faced UNT just six times in program history, with their most recent matchup ending in a loss last season. UNT, predicted to finish fifth in the conference, is currently 12th with a 3-8 record for the season.
