Volleyball Drops First Road Conference Match to the University of North Texas

DENTON, TEXAS โ Tulane volleyball played its first road conference match against the University of North Texas (UNT), where the Green Wave fell in a hard-fought Sunday contest. Despite a fight, Tulane was unable to overcome the Mean Green and dropped the match in straight sets 25-15, 25-22, and 25-18.
The Green Wave surged in the second set, taking an early lead and overpowering their opponent, which they will aim to do again when they host UNT on Oct. 27.
The team delivered five service aces, with Agata Beksha landing two. Sami Jacobs also served one and brought her season total to a team-high of 20 aces.ย
Katherine Crosley and Zoe Rachow both gave nine assists, operating as a dynamic duo on the court.ย
Sabrina Skyers notched another solo block, bringing her season count to 11. She is just two block assists away from hitting 50 for the season.ย
Avery Burks held the match's team-high in kills, delivering a total of eight. Freshman Amelia Haggins brought her total kills to 13 today, having given one in the first set.ย
Freshman Lora Cole provided noteworthy action, as she had two kills from five total attacks to hit .400. Riley Mansfield also tallied two kills and proved herself contributary, coming in to start the third set.ย

Tulane will host the University of Alabama Birmingham on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6:30. They will play at home again on Sunday, Oct. 6 against the University of Tulsa.ย
