Green Wave Turned Back in Weekend’s First Match

OXFORD, MS – The Tulane men's tennis team played its first road match of the spring Saturday and was downed by host Ole Miss 5-2 at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center in Oxford.
The Rebels (4-0) captured the doubles point with victories at Nos. 1 and 3, while the Green Wave's No. 2 tandem of Luka Petrovic and Hady Elkordy were ahead 5-4 when the point was clinched.
The singles competition was played to completion and saw the Olive and Blue grab victories at No. 3 (super tiebreaker by Vincent Vohl) and at No. 4 (straight sets by Asaf Friedler).
The team (1-1 overall) will now turn its attention to Sunday at 11 a.m. when it plays South Alabama in Oxford. The Jaguars were also defeated 5-2 earlier on Saturday by Georgia Southern.
