Jaguars Take 4-3 Seesaw Affair over Green Wave

OXFORD, MS – South Alabama surrendered the doubles point but won the majority of the singles action against Tulane to register a 4-3 defeat of the Green Wave on Sunday in Oxford, Mississippi.
USA improved to 2-1 on the season, while the TU fell to 1-2.
The Olive and Blue started the day strong with doubles wins at Nos. 1 (Hady Elkordy and Asaf Friedler) and 2 (Maxim Kalinin and Luka Petrovic). The former pairing clinched the opening point with a 6-4 victory.
The Jaguars then got singles triumphs at Nos. 1, 4 and 5 before the Green Wave responded with wins by Friedler at No. 3 and Steven Rice at No. 6.
That left the No. 2 match between Tulane's Vincent Vohl and USA's Victor Frumholz as the decider. The latter took the first set 7-5, but Vohl fought back and won 6-3. Frumholz fell behind in the final set but rallied and took it 7-5 as well to clinch the overall team win.
The Green Wave is home Wednesday at 1 against UAB at the City Park Tennis Center.
