LSU Registers 6-1 Victory at Tulane on Monday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's Luka Petrovic defeated Aleksi Lofman in the super-tiebreaker by scores of 3-6, 6-4, (11-9) but the latter's LSU Tigers came away with a 6-1 team victory on Monday afternoon at City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans.
LSU improved to 7-3 overall, while Tulane dropped to 1-5.
Lofman, who is ranked 124th nationally in singles, was able to team with Julien Penzlin to knock off Petrovic and Hady Elkordy in doubles 6-4 to clinch that team point for the visitors. Lofman and Penzlin came into Monday's match ranked 41st nationally.
Tulane's Asaf Friedler won the first set at No. 4 singles 6-4, but the Tigers' Ishaan Ravichander rallied and took the match with a 9-7 win in the second set tiebreaker, followed by a 10-7 triumph in the super-tiebreaker.
The Green Wave is back in action Friday at Virginia Tech at 5 p.m.
