NEW ORLEANS – Tulane secured the doubles point and then went on to sweep all of the action Tuesday as it defeated visiting Louisiana 4-0 at City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans.
With the victory, the Green Wave improved to 3-2 overall. Louisiana saw its record evened a 2-2.
Both teams agreed to a "clinch-clinch" format before the action began.
Micah Pierce and Delanie Tribby secured the doubles point with a 7-5 win at No. 2.
In singles, Campbell Ricci, Summer Chandler and Jiayun Zhu all connected straight set victories, dropping just six games total in the process. All other matches were halted once Chandler closed out her triumph.
The Green Wave will be back home Thursday when LSU visits for a 2 p.m. start in a contest that will be carried on ESPN+. The first 50 fans will receive a FREE license plate frame.
