Irving, TX – The Tulane baseball team (3-0), after a strong weekend on the diamond, saw a pair of the team's players named to the AAC's Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced this afternoon.
Matthias Haas, a graduate student outfielder from Oakland, California, earned the distinction after hitting .500 on the week with six hits in 12 at bats. Three of his team-leading six hits went for extra bases with two doubles and a home run. He also picked up 11 total bases, eight RBIs, a slugging percentage of .917, a pair of walks and an on-base percentage of .571 in three games. Haas currently leads the conference in RBIs.
Trey Cehajic, a senior pitcher from Shreveport, Louisiana, was honored by the AAC as well after taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning against Omaha over the weekend. He recorded four strikeouts while limiting the Mavericks to an .167 batting average in earning the first victory of his Tulane career in his first career start with the Green Wave.
Next, Tulane welcomes in UNO for the first game of the Pelican Cup on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 6:30 p.m. The program is also slated to hit the road for the first time this season this week with a trip to Hammond, Louisiana to take on Southeastern on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m. before returning home to host Loyola Marymount for a weekend series from Feb. 23-25 starting with first pitch on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
