Tulane Hosts East Carolina for Wednesday Night Showdown

NEW ORLEANS – Riding the high of a thrilling victory on Saturday Tulane University men's basketball will look to keep the momentum rolling as it welcomes East Carolina to Uptown on Wednesday night. The Green Wave has won its last two home contests and has only lost one time in the friendly confines of Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse in 2025.

The matchup between the Wave and the Pirates is set to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.1 The Ticket and Heaven 106.7 with the voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the 37th all-time meeting between Tulane and East Carolina with the Green Wave trailing the series 17-19. The Wave is on a three-game winning streak at home against the Pirates and holds a 9-7 advantage in the series in Uptown. The Green Wave defeated ECU 81-78 on March 3, 2023, in the last meeting in New Orleans. In the latest matchup in the series, Tulane fell to the Pirates 67-81 in Greenville, North Carolina, on February 18, 2024.

In its last time out, Asher Woods drained a three-pointer as time expired to lift Tulane to an 81-78 victory over Rice on Saturday, February 15. A block by Gregg Glenn III with five seconds left sparked the run out to set up Woods for the game-winning shot at the buzzer for the Green Wave. The trio of Rowan Brumbaugh, Woods, and Glenn III combined for 65 points to lead the charge for Tulane. Brumbaugh finished with 25 points while Woods and Glenn III each added 20 points.

Woods earned his first American Athletic Conference weekly honorable mention on Monday after helping the Wave defeat Rice with his buzzer beater on Saturday. Woods recorded his second-straight game with 20 points while also adding four made three-pointers against the Owls. He is averaging 13.3 points on 44.7 percent shooting in league play.

The Green Wave holds a 11-3 record at home this season including a 5-1 mark in league play. Tulane is averaging 78.0 points on 45.0 percent shooting from the floor and 35.7 percent from three in home games this season. Brumbaugh leads the attack for the Wave in Uptown averaging 17.1 points and 5.3 assists per game at home.

East Carolina enters the matchup on a three-game winning streak after defeating Charlotte 75-59 on the road on Saturday, February 15. The Pirates hold a 15-11 overall record and 7-6 in AAC play so far this season.

The trio of C.J. Walker, RJ Felton, and Jordan Riley lead the offensive attack for the Pirates. Walker and Felton rank fourth and fifth in the league in scoring this season averaging 18.4 and 18.0 points per game.

Following the matchup against ECU, the Green Wave will hit the road to Wichita, Kansas, to face Wichita State on Sunday, February 23. Tipoff between Tulane and the Shockers is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
