
Swimming & Diving Placed Second After Day 2 of the AAC Swimming and Diving Championships

Day 2 Results
Dallas, Texas –  The Tulane swimming and diving team kept competing well on the second day of the 2025 AAC Swimming & Diving Championships and rank second overall with 502 total points. The program set two school records and had four more All-AAC selections on the second day.
Catherine Russo won the 50 free and broke her own school record with a 22.20 for 32 points. Her teammate, Maya Wilson, finished right on her heels in second place with a 22.41 for 28 points. Olcaytu Hatipoglu placed eighth with a 23.33 for 22 points.
The program's group of Russo, Hatipoglu, Rafaela Sumida and Wilson won the 200 free with a school record time of 1:30.07. The team earned 64 points on the finish.
Lise Coetzee placed second in the 500 free with a 4:45.28 to pick up 28 points. Others to earn points in the event include Sumida (7th – 4:56.58 – 23 pts.), Syndey Mullin (9th – 4:53.56 – 20th pts), Phoebe Johnson (19th – 5:01.56 – 6 pts.) and Layla Allen (22nd – 5:02.40 – 3 pts.).
Andrea Zeebe earned sixth in the 200 IM with a 2:00.47 for 24 pts. Gwen Shahboz took ninth in the event with a 2:01.60 for 20 points. Paula Gaya Bisquerra earned 24th with a 2:10.74 for a point.
All six Green Wave divers earned points for Tulane in the 1-meter diving. Anna Behrman (12th – 241.44 – 15 pts.), Rachel Casebolt (13th – 241.05 – 14 pts.), Paige McKenzie (14th – 216.30 – 13 pts.), Taylor Cekay (15th – 227.10 – 12 pts.), Kelsey Weddington (21st – 200.25 – 4 pts.) and Eva Shawver (24th – 179.20 – 1 pt.).
Next Tulane continues competing on the third day of the AAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday starting at 10:30 a.m. with the swim preliminaries. The diving preliminaries begin at 11:30 a.m. The event being competed are 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 3M Diving. The finals begin in the evening at 5:10 for the diving consolation and the swimming finals at 6 p.m.
