
Tulane Travels to Florida to Face Two Ranked Opponents

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's men's tennis team hits the road this weekend to take on a pair of ranked opponents in the Sunshine State on Friday, March 21, and Sunday, March 23. The Green will start the weekend against No. 25 South Florida at 12:30 CT Friday before facing #65 Florida Atlantic on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT.
The Wave enters the weekend winning three of its last four matches to improve to 5-9 on the season. Tulane defeated UC San Diego to close the Ed Collins Classic in San Diego on March 9 before winning a doubleheader at home over New Orleans and Nicholls on March 14. The Green Wave dropped its last match 6-1 at home to No. 47 Middle Tennessee on March 16.
On Friday, the Wave and the 25th-ranked Bulls will meet at the USF Varsity Tennis complex in Tampa, Florida. Tulane is 10-11 in the series against South Florida including a 5-6 record against the Bulls on the road. The last time the Green Wave defeated came on the road 4-1 on April 3, 2023.
The matchup between Tulane and Florida Atlantic on Sunday marks just the fourth time the two teams have met. The Wave leads the series 2-1 despite dropping the last meeting in New Orleans 4-1 on April 8, 2022. This will be the first matchup between the Green Wave and the Owls at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center in Boca Raton, Florida.
Sophomore Hady El Kordy leads the Wave in singles play so far this spring with five victories including four-straight in the last four matches for Tulane. In doubles action, Asaf Friedler and Vincent Vohl man the No. 1 court for Tulane holding a 4-2 record at that position.
