Wave Falls to 11th on Day Two at Florida State Match Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Tulane golf dropped six spots in the standings on the Florida State Match Up on Saturday to land in 11th out of 13 teams with 18 holes to play. The Green Wave shot 317 (+29) as a team in the second round to bring its tournament total to 621 (+45) through 36 holes.
Gabriella Gilrowski led the way for the Wave on day two of the tournament as she carded a 74 (+2) in her second round. She added one birdie to her weekend total as well as an eagle on the par five on the sixth hole. Gilrowski is up to five birdies so far in the tournament and sits tied for 15th overall with a two-round score of 148 (+4 – 74, 74).
Following a solid first round, Francesca Pompa shot an 82 (+10) on Saturday to fall 31 spots in the standings. Pompa tallied just one birdie in her second round as she finished the day tied for 39th overall with a total score of 155 (+11 – 73, 82).
Rounding out the starting five for Tulane after the second round were Matilde Innocenti, Cristina Albertazzi, and Ruhee Pandit. Innocenti carded an 82 (+10) on Saturday to drop into a tie for 63rd at 161 (+17 – 79, 82) for the tournament. Albertazzi added a team-high three birdies to her card as she posted an 85 in her second round to bring her tournament total to 163 (+19 – 78, 85) which sits 68th overall. Finally, Pandit ended the day in 69th after she shot a 79 (+7) in the second round to bring her two-round total to 164 (+20 – 85, 79).
Meanwhile, competing as an individual Lynne Zhang followed her 85 (+13) in the first round by carding an 87 (+15) to enter the final round tied for 71st overall at 172 (+28 – 85, 81=7) for the tournament.
Tulane will be back in action on Sunday for the third and final round of the tournament. The first player to tee off for the Green Wave will be on the 10th hole at 7:30 a.m. CT.
