
Green Wave Set for Road Bout at East Carolina Thursday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball will look to win its third straight game and secure a sweep of the season series over East Carolina as it visits the Pirates in Greenville, North Carolina, Thursday night. The Green Wave has won consecutive road games one time this season defeating Rice on January 25 then UTSA on February 5.

The matchup between the Wave and the Pirates is set to tipoff at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.1 The Ticket and Heaven 106.7 with the Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the 38th all-time meeting between Tulane and East Carolina with the Green Wave trailing the series 18-19. The Wave won the previous meeting this season 86-81 at home on February 19. Tulane has lost the last six matchups against the Pirates in Greenville, North Carolina, including a 67-81 loss last season on February 18, 2024. The last time the Green Wave defeated East Carolina on the road came with a 71-69 victory in overtime on January 31, 2018.

In its last time out, junior Gregg Glenn III banked home a tough layup with 1.8 seconds remaining to give Tulane the 79-77 victory on the road over Tulsa on March 1. Six players scored in double figures for the Green Wave for the second time this season matching the same output for the Wave in the team's 82-71 win at Rice on January 25. Glenn III led all scorers against the Golden Hurricane with a career-high 22 points while Percy Daniels also notched a career-best 10 points.

The duo of Glenn III and Kam Williams each earned American Athletic Conference Weekly honors on Monday following a 2-0 week for the Wave. Glenn III picked up his second honorable mention nod after averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. Williams garnered his second-straight and his fourth overall Freshman of the Week honor this season after posting 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

East Carolina enters the matchup on a two-game winning streak after defeating Charlotte 78-76 at home on Sunday, March 2, to improve to 17-12 overall and 9-7 in conference play.
The Pirates are paced by three players averaging double figures in scoring this season. The duo of RJ Felton and C.J. Walker lead the way as Felton ranks fourth in the conference averaging 18.76 points per game and Walker rates fifth at 17.55 points per game.

Following the matchup at East Carolina, the Green Wave will return home to host UAB for the regular season finale on Sunday, March 9. Tipoff between Tulane and the Blazers is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
