Green Wave Wraps Regular Season at Home

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women's tennis team will host a pair of American Athletic Conference opponents at City Park Tennis Center this weekend to close the regular season. The Green Wave will begin the weekend by facing No. 29 Florida Atlantic at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 4, before concluding the regular season against No. 43 Tulsa at 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 6.

The Wave holds a 10-9 overall record this season including an 8-3 mark in home matches. Tulane has also earned a pair of victories over ranked opponents this season including one at home over No. 66 Princeton on March 13.

This will be just the second matchup all-time between Tulane and Florida Atlantic with the previous meeting going to the Owls 4-1 on March 1, 2024, in Boca Raton, Florida.

Tulane and Tulsa have met 14 times on the courts with the Green Wave trailing the series to the Golden Hurricane 5-9. The Wave defeated Tulsa in the most recent matchup 4-3 on February 9, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tulane is 3-3 against the Golden Hurricane in New Orleans despite losing its last three home matches. The last time the Wave defeated Tulsa at home was February 20, 2005, by a final score of 4-3.

Leading the Green Wave in singles is freshman Campbell Ricci holding a 12-2 mark this spring at the No. 1 spot for Tulane. In doubles action Tulane is paced by the duos of Ricci with Leigh Van Zyl and Summer Chandler with Micah Pierce. Both pairs have tallied nine victories this spring as Ricci and Van Zyl hold a 9-6 mark at the No. 1 doubles slot while Chandler and Pierce are 9-3 at the No. 2 doubles position.

Following the action this weekend, Tulane will compete in the AAC Championship in Memphis, Tennessee. The conference tournament will begin on Thursday, April 17, and run through Sunday, April 20, at the Leftwich Tennis Center.
