
Ricci Named AAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Tulane women's tennis freshman Campbell Ricci was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week by the league office on Tuesday.

Ricci earned the honor after going 2-0 at the No. 1 singles position as the Green Wave split a pair of home dual matches against ranked opponents last week. She scored a 6-2, 6-3 win in a 4-2 loss to No. 29 Florida Atlantic on Friday, April 4, before helping Tulane take down No. 43 Tulsa 4-2 on Sunday with a three-set victory. Ricci's win against the Golden Hurricane came over the top-ranked singles player in The American, No. 79 Maria Berlanga, in three sets 4-6, 6-2, 77-63.

The Las Vegas, Nevada, product improved to 14-2 on the season on the top singles court for Tulane. She also finished the regular season with an undefeated 10-0 mark at home in completed singles matches.

Ricci is the first Green Wave player since Sade Atkinson in April 2017 to earn AAC Player of the Week honors. Atkinson also won the league's player of the month in October 2016.

Tulane will compete in the 2025 AAC Women's Tennis Championship in Memphis, Tennessee, beginning on Thursday, April 17. The tournament will run through Sunday, April 20, at the Leftwich Tennis Center.
