Tulane Concludes Regular Season on the Road

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane track and field team will wrap up the regular season with a pair of road meets this weekend. The Green Wave will have athletes competing in the East Coast Relays hosted by North Florida on Friday and Saturday, May 2-3, and the LSU Invitational on Saturday.
EAST COAST RELAYS
Date: Friday-Saturday, May 2-3

The meet will begin with field events on Friday afternoon starting with the men's hammer throw and pole vault at 1 p.m. CT. Action in the field events will continue the rest of the afternoon with the following competitions: men's high jump, women's shot put, women's hammer throw, men's shot put, women's pole vault, and men's and women's long jump. Over on the track on Friday the action will start at 5 p.m. CT with the 400m followed by the 200m, 1500m, 3000m steeple chase, and 5000m.
On Saturday competition will open on the track at 8 a.m. CT with the prelims for the 100m hurdles. The prelims for the 110m hurdles and 100m dash will follow before an intermission. After the break the action on the track will conclude with the finals for the 4x100m, 800m, 100m hurdles, 110m hurdles, 400m, 100m dash, and 4x400m relay. The field events will begin at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday with the men's discus and women's javelin followed by the men's and women's triple jump, women's high jump, women's discus, and men's javelin.
LSU INVITATIONAL

Tulane will be represented by Dorcas Naibei (1500m), Silas Kiptanui (1500m), Illia Kunin (1500m), Janae Dean (800m), Zander Dunbar (800m), Roman Schrader (800m), and Wondu Summa (3000m steeplechase) at the LSU Invitational on Saturday. The action will begin with the first event for the Wave in women's 1500m at 12:25 p.m. The final run of the meet for the Green Wave will be the men's 3000m steeplechase at 3:20 p.m.
LAST OUTING
Freshman Blezzin Kimutai highlighted the weekend of competition for the Green Wave as she became the first champion for Tulane at the Drake Relays when she smashed the program record to win the 10,000m. She posted a time of 34:06.66 in the event to finish in first place by more than 40 seconds and best the previous Tulane record by 46.35 seconds.
Meanwhile at the Knights Invitational in Tampa, Florida, the Green Wave recorded four personal bests including a first-place finish by Egbe Ndip-Agbor to highlight the action on Friday. She won the 200m by running a 23.64 which marked the sixth best time in program history.
UP NEXT
Tulane will head to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. The championship meet will be held at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center from May 15-17.
