
Hamilton Takes Gold with Team USA at 2025 Junior Pan American Games

ASUNCION, Paraguay – Hamilton Barclay of the Tulane University sailing program claimed gold in his respective racing class with Team USA at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games on Sunday, August 17. With his victory, Barclay has qualified for the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, in 2027.

Barclay competed in the one-person dinghy (ILCA 7) which completed five total races in the competition. In those five races the Green Wave junior won three times and finished second one in the field of 19 sailors. Overall, he finished with 11 total points and a net of five points to claim the gold medal.

Three total sailors earned a medal for Team USA in sailing with Barclay and teammate Makani Andrews each taking home the gold while Danicka Grace won bronze.

Barclay will represent Team USA again in 2027 at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. The international multi-sport event will be held from July 16-August 1 of 2027.
