NEW ORLEANSย โย Tulane volleyball opens American Conference play at home this weekend as it hosts Memphis and Temple inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave will take the court against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 26, before battling the Owls on Sunday, September 28, at 1 p.m.

The Wave enters league competition with an 8-3 record including a 6-0 mark at home after sweeping the Pelican Invitational in Uptown last weekend. Tulane has not started conference play with a victory since the 2021 season when the Green Wave defeated Wichita State 3-1 on September 24 in Houston.

TULANE VS. MEMPHIS
This marks the 62nd meeting all-time between Tulane and Memphis with the Green Wave trailing the overall series 28-33. The Wave defeated the Tigers in the most recent matchup securing a 3-2 victory in Memphis on October 18, 2024.

In the last 10 meetings between the two programs the Green Wave holds a 6-4 advantage including a 4-1 record at home. Memphis came away with the win in the last matchup in the series in Uptown 3-0 on November 20, 2022, which snapped a five-match home win streak for Tulane over the Tigers.

Sunday's matchup will be the 18th meeting between the Green Wave and the Owls, all coming since 2014. Tulane holds a 7-10 record against Temple including a 4-4 mark at home but has dropped the last four bouts in the series. The last time the Wave defeated the Owls came on October 31, 2021, in New Orleans by a final score of 3-2.

Despite losses in four-straight meeting between the two programs the Green Wave still holds a 5-5 record in the last 10 matchups against the Owls.

Tulane remained unbeaten at home by going 3-0 in the Pelican Invitational with victories over New Orleans, Providence, and Alabama State. The Green Wave earned 3-0 sweeps against UNO and Alabama State to bring the team total to four sweeps on the season with all four coming at home.

Junior Avery Burks highlighted the 3-0 weekend for Tulane as she was named the Pelican Invitational Most Valuable Player tallying 46 kills and 29 digs. the tournament with a 5-3 record this season including a 3-0 mark so far at home. Zoe Rachow earned Setter of the Tournament recording 115 assists while Ava Derbes was named to the all-tournament team notching 29 kills and seven blocks.

The Wave will hit the road in American Conference play to face Charlotte and East Carolina. Tulane will square off against the 49ers on Friday, October 3, at 5 p.m. CT before taking on the Pirates on Sunday, October 5, at 11 a.m. CT.
