
Tulane Sits Tied for Eighth at Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational

GREENSBORO, Ga. – At the end of the first day of action at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational Tulane women's golf is tied for eighth overall in the field of 15 teams. Through a little over one and a half rounds of play the Green Wave holds a total score of 491 (+18) after opening with a 304 (+16) in the first round.

In the second round each player for the Wave completed at least 11 holes on Friday ending the day two over par as a team so far in the round.

Francesca Pompa and Gabriella Gilrowski lead the individuals for Tulane each sitting tied for sixth in the field of 80 players. Pompa began her day by shooting a 71 (-1) in the first round before entering the clubhouse at an even par after landing at one over par through 12 holes in the second round. Gilrowski also ended Friday with an overall score at even par after she followed a 75 (+3) in the opening round by sinking three birdies through 12 holes in round two.

Next up in the standings for the Green Wave was Sophia Chen who ended Monday in 14th at two-over par through 30 total holes. She started the tournament with a 75 (+3) in the first round before ending one-under through 12 holes in the second round.

Tonka Zacharovska rounded out the lineup for the Wave in 75th after shooting an 83 in the first round and closing at five over through 11 holes in her second round.

Tulane will finish play in the second round of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational on Saturday before beginning action for the third and final round.
