NEW ORLEANS – Tulane volleyball will hit the road for the first time this season to compete in the UNF Invitation from Thursday to Saturday, September 3-5, in Jacksonville, Florida. The Green Wave will play three matches in the tournament facing Duke, Florida International, and tournament host North Florida.

The Wave enters the road tournament after opening the season 1-1 at home in the Green Wave Classic in New Orleans last weekend. Tulane dropped its first match of the year to North Dakota State on August 28 before bouncing back with a sweep of Tennessee Tech on August 30.

Charlee Solomon and Lauryn Mack each earned all-tournament honors in the Green Wave Classic. In her two matches in the tournament Solomon posted 74 assists, 22 digs, 11 kills, and two service aces. Not to be outdone, Mack opened her second season in Uptown by recording 24 kills, 17 digs, five blocks, and four aces across two matches.

At the UNF Invitational the Green Wave will begin against Duke on Thursday, September 3, at 2 p.m. CT. On Friday, September 4, Tulane will battle Florida International at 1 p.m. CT before concluding the tournament against North Florida on Saturday, August 4, at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Thursday's match against Duke will be the first meeting between the Green Wave and the Blue Devils on the court. Tulane holds a 36-74 overall record against current teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference including a 9-21 mark in neutral site matches. The last time the Wave defeated a current ACC team was a 3-1 victory of Cal, which was part of the Pac12 at the time, at home on August 28, 2021.

Meanwhile on the gridiron this weekend, the Green Wave football team is slated to face the Duke Blue Devils in Durham, N.C., on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

The matchup between Tulane and Florida International on Friday will mark the ninth meeting between the two teams and the sixth neutral site contest in the series. The Green Wave holds a 5-3 advantage over the Panthers overall including a 4-1 mark in the neutral matches.

Tulane defeated Florida International with a clean 3-0 sweep in New Orleans in the most recent meeting on October 20, 2013. In the last neutral match between the Wave and the Panthers Tulane earned the victory 3-1 in Orlando, Florida, on October 13, 1986.

This will be just the second all-time meeting between the Wave and North Florida. Tulane secured the victory in the first matchup in New Orleans on September 16, 2017, with a 3-0 sweep.

Through the first weekend of competition in 2026 Tulane averaged 12.75 digs, 12.63 kills, and 11.75 assists per set across two matches. As a team the Green Wave ranks fifth in hitting percentage in the American Conference following the opening weekend of play at .236 percent. Individually in the conference, Solomon rates sixth in assists at 9.25 per set and Mack ranks 10th in service aces averaging 0.50 per set.
