NEW ORLEANS – Tulane swimming and diving opened the 2026-27 season Friday and Saturday at the Reily Center Natatorium with its annual Olive & Blue Scrimmage.
This year's scrimmage featured a new format, dividing the squad into three teams—White, Blue and Green—for a two-day competition that combined swimming, diving and dryland events.
Swimmers competed in a pentathlon consisting of the 50-yard butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle, along with the 100-yard individual medley. Team standings were determined by average swim time. The five divers each performed six dives—three from the 1-meter board and three from the 3-meter board—with the highest combined score earning the individual title.
Saturday's dryland competition included a 10-yard sprint, broad jump, medicine-ball overhead throw and prowler push. Teams could also earn points for spirit and communication.
The White team claimed the overall victory, winning both the swimming competition with an average time of 3:00.22 and the dryland events with 36 points.
