Prep: A four-year letterman at George Ranch High School in Richmond, Texas…played catcher for the Longhorns…helped lead his team to a District 24-5A league title as a senior with an overall record of 18-10 (13-2 in district play) by hitting .329 with two home runs in addition to throwing out 60% of potential base stealers…earned 5A All-Houston Second Team honors as a senior while picking up First Team Catcher All-District and All-District MVP honors…also named a Third Team All-State catcher by the Texas High School Coaches Association…was a 2015 Houston Chronicle Preseason All-Houston Second Team selection…hit .356 with 10 doubles, one triple, one home run and 24 RBI as a junior, helping lead his team to a state semifinals appearance and an undefeated record in district play for a district championship…named a Second-Team All-District catcher as a junior in addition to earned honorable mention All-State honors from the Texas Sports Writers Association…hit .318 as a sophomore to help lead the Longhorns to the district championship…off the field, earned AP Scholar Award with Distinction Award in 2014 and 2015…named to All-District Academic team from 2013-15 while earned Academic All-State honors in 2015…played summer ball for the Columbia Angels, helping lead the team to the 2013 Premier National Championship.
