As a Senior (through Mar. 7): Leads the team with 37 steals (13th in the league) and is second in Conference USA with 3.81 steals per 40 minutes. Listed at just 6-2, has eight blocked shots to rank fourth on the team. Has established new career-hpighs in nearly every category this year. Surpassed last year[apos]s total minutes (147) played within the first 10 games this season. Had four rebounds (three offensive), including a key offensive board with 2:03 remaining, to go with two assists in 19 minutes against Houston (2/26). Registered a career-best seven rebounds while matching his career-high with five steals in 23 minutes of action against Southern Miss (2/22). Recorded four points with five rebounds and a steal against South Florida (2/18). Tallied four assists, three rebounds and two steals in 19 minutes against TCU (2/15). Played 13 minutes against Houston (2/4), scoring four points with two rebounds and two assists. Made his first career start against Marquette (1/14), tallying two points, two steals, an assist and a rebound in 16 minutes. Scored a career-high 12 points to go with four rebounds, four steals and two assists in the win over Georgia Tech (1/2). Posted career-bests of six rebounds and five assists in the Savannah win (12/20). Tallied seven points against Loyola (11/25) while adding four rebounds and three steals. Had a team season-high five steals against UCF (11/29).
As a Junior (2001-2002): Played 18 minutes in the two C-USA playoff games, providing hard-nosed defense and hustle. Saw action at both the point and two-guard position. A threat from long range, having hit five-of-10 attempts from three-point range. Logged 11 minutes against UAB (1/26), scoring three points with two assists and a rebound. Scored three points against both Kentucky (1/2) and DePaul (1/5). Scored a career-best five points against UNO (12/5). Made his first career start against VCU (11/27). Notched four points and two assists against Norfolk State (11/24).
Juco: Played for two years at Tyler (Texas) Junior College. Last season, averaged 7.5 points and 4.0 assists per game, while leading the league with 3.0 steals per game.
Prep: A standout player at Stephenson High School, averaged 12.2 points per game as a senior. Lettered for three years in basketball and two in track. Helped the Jaguar track team to a state championship in 1998. Posted a time of 47.5 seconds in the 400 meters, while running a 21.24 in the 200 and a 10.67 in the 100.
