Baseball Earns Top Seed in NCAA Regional

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane (45-15) baseball team begins the road to Omaha, as they were named the No. 1 seed in the Auburn Regional of the 1999 NCAA Baseball Championship on Monday.

The Green Wave makes its second straight trip to the NCAA regional, third trip in four years, this time as the No. 1 seed. Tulane has been paired with No. 2 seed Auburn, No. 3 seed NC State and No. 4 seed Winthrop.
Tulane plays Winthrop on Friday, May 28th at 4 p.m., as Auburn takes on NC State at 7:30 p.m. As always the games are scheduled to be broadcast on www.broadcast.com, TeamLine and 88.3 FM WRBH.
About Auburn and the NCAA Tournament
For the second time in the history of the program, Auburn will host a NCAA Baseball Regional.
This season, the field of the NCAA Tournament expanded from 48 to 64 teams. Sixteen four-team regionals will be played May 28-30 and will consist of six, or if necessary, seven games. The 16 winners will be paired in super regionals on June 4-5 in a best two of three format and those eight winners will compete in the College World Series.
