Sparks Receives Three Player of the Week Honors

Tulane outfielder Jason Sparks was named National Player of the Week for Collegiate Baseball, Conference USA's Hitter of the Week and the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association Baseball Player of the Week. For the week of March 22, Sparks hit .533 (8-for-15) with a slugging percentage of 1.60. He hit six home runs in Tulane's four games, including a school-record three in Sunday's 17-4 victory over UNC Charlotte. Sparks homered in all four of Tulane's games last week. Sparks, who is hitting .389, leads the team in doubles with nine and has stolen eight bases. In 72 at bats, Sparks has recorded 28 hits, one triple and eight home runs. He has a .875 slugging percentage and an on base percentage of .545.
