BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Sterling Davis scored 14 points and Waitari Marsh and Ledaryl Billingsley had 12 apiece to lead Tulane to a 77-66 win over UAB Saturday.
The Green Wave (17-6, 6-5 Conference USA) shot 53 percent from the floor to take the lead in the National Division.
The Blazers (12-10, 5-6) got nearly half of their scoring from guard Eric Holmes. Holmes scored 30 points and was 7-of-13 from 3-point range. The rest of the team combined to attempt - and miss - one 3-pointer.
Torrey Ward added 14 points and eight rebounds for UAB.
Tulane's Dylan Osean was also in double figures with 10 points.
UAB hit 5-of-7 3-pointers in the first half, trailing 41-38 at the break. But the Blazers shot just 31 percent from the field in the second half, including 2-of-7 3-pointers.
The Blazers' Myron Ransom was held to four points, 8.5 below his season average.
