Now that its exams are out of the way, Tulane looks to turn its full attention to basketball as it visits Drake on Friday.
The 21st-ranked Green Wave (9-1), who took a 10-day break to focus on final exams, are returning to the court for the first time since posting a 71-48 home win over intrastate rival Nicholls State on Dec. 11.
"It's always nice to get a win right before the kids start exams," Tulane coach Lisa Stockton said.
Sophomore guard Delacey Joseph scored 16 points to lead four Tulane players in double figures. Joseph, who was named Conference USA player of the week on Monday, hit four 3-pointers and added four rebounds and two assists. She is second on the team in scoring at 13.8 points per game.
Tulane is going for its sixth straight win since dropping a 64-52 decision to then-No. 10 Purdue on Nov. 29.
The Green Wave's current five-game win streak has included victories over defending Ivy League champion Penn, then-No. 18 Florida and 2001 Final Four participant Southwest Missouri State.
Drake (5-3), which has been receiving double-digit scoring from four players, has won four of its last six games, including Sunday's 88-74 victory over Nebraska.
Five players reached double digits against Nebraska, including Carla Bennett and Jayme Anderson, who had 19 points apiece. The duo was efficient from the field, combining to shoot 76 percent (13-for-17). Overall, Drake shot 53 percent (31-for-58) from the field.
The Lady Bulldogs have won two of three games at home this season.
