Tulane vs. James Madison Game Notes
The Tulane women's basketball team returns to action for the first time in 11 days on Thursday, as the Green Wave play host to James Madison at Fogelman Arena. The game is also the Wave's first home contest since Nov. 29 - a span of 19 days.
Thursday's game kicks off a five-game home stretch that lasts through the end of the year and includes the DoubleTree Classic at Fogelman and a Dec. 30 contest in the New Orleans Arena.
Tulane enters Thursday's contest with a 2-4 record after splitting its two games at the Oakland Tribune Classic on Dec. 6 and 7. The Wave opened the tournament with a 62-59 win over Wichita State thanks to a last-second three-pointer from Delacey Joseph before falling 66-61 to host Cal in the championship game.
Senior Kelly Nadeau and junior Lakethia Hampton were each named to the All-Tournament team. Hampton currently leads the Wave in scoring and rebounding, chipping in 13.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest. Nadeau is second on the squad in scoring at 11.8 points per game, while also leading the way with 16 asissts through six games.
Like Tulane, James Madison enters Thursday's game with a 2-4 record. The Dukes are wrapping up a six-game road swing that began on Nov. 27th.
JMU features one of the youngest rosters in the country, with six freshmen and three sophomores (and only two juniors and one senior). The Dukes' freshman class is currently accounting for 59.5 percent of the team's scoring and 65.4 percent of its rebounding.
Thursday's game marks the second meeting between Tulane and James Madison. Last season, Tulane claimed a 58-46 win over the Dukes in Harrisonburg, Va., in the season-opener for both teams.
