FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Freshman Lindsey Karlik broke her own record in the pole vault to lead the Green Wave women's track team which was in action at the Tyson Invitation on Friday and Saturday at the Randall-Tyson Track Complex on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Karlik vaulted 11 feet, two and a quarter inches to set the school record.
Helmi Leppanen and Jelena Jurlina were both solid in the shot put as Leppanen had a throw of 44 feet, six and three-quarters inches, while Jurlina registered an effort of 40 feet, two inches. Both of those marks are season-bests.
Tahira Wiggins and Camilla Hatlen also turned in season-bests. Wiggins posted a time of 57.87 in the 400-meter dash, while Hatlen leapt 18 feet, three and a quarter inches in the long jump.
Tulane is back in action next Saturday at the LSU Twilight Invitational in Baton Rouge.
