
Volleyball Drops C-USA Contest to Memphis

New Orleans - The Tulane volleyball team dropped a second-consecutive Conference match for the first time this season, as Memphis handed the Green Wave a 3-1 loss (30-26, 25-30, 30-25, 30-28). Freshman OH Ksenija Vlaskovic recorded a double-double for Tulane with 11 kills and 10 digs, as did sophomore OH Sara Radosevic, who led Tulane with 19 kills with 14 digs.
Sophomore MB Lauren Boatwright added seven kills on a .500 hitting percentage and sophomore OH Bridget Wells chipped in nine kills. Freshman libero added 26 digs for the Green Wave.
Tulane falls to 11-10 overall, 7-5 in Conference USA. Memphis has won six of seven, and is now 23-5 overall, 9-3 in C-USA.
"Memphis played a great game defensively and showed why they have 23 wins already," head coach Liz Kritza said. "This was a tough weekend for our young team, but one that I am certain hass taught us some very important lessons."
Memphis took game one, 30-26, despite being out-hit by Tulane. In game two, the Green Wave rallied with a 30-25 win. The Tigers responded with 30-25 win in game three. In game four, Tulane led 15-10 before a 6-0 Memphis run helped the Tigers seize control of the match.
"A bright spot for us was the performance of Lauren Boatwright and a 26-dig performance from Jenn Miller," Krtiza added.
Sarah Bury led all players with 20 kills for Memphis, hitting .350.
The Green Wave travels to Southern Mississippi for a Friday C-USA road match at 7 p.m,, followed by a trip to UCF on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest.
