
Volleyball Takes Out Southern Miss in Four

Hattiesburg, MS -The Tulane volleyball team scored a 3-1 win at Southern Miss Friday at the Payne Center, (32-30, 28-30, 30-23, 30-22) behind 29 kills from sophomore outside hitter Sara Radosevic. With the win, the Green Wave improve to Tulane 12-10 overall and 8-5 C-USA.
Sophomore middle blocker Jen Linder racked up 12 kills on 17 swings, hitting .706.
Four members of Tulane were in double-figure kills. Freshman outside hitter Ksenija Vlaskovic finished with 13 kills, hitting .407 and sophomore outside Bridget Wells added 12 kills.
Sophomore setter Luna Rebrovic paced the Green Wave with 34 assists, while freshman Rachel Lindelow chipped in 25.
"It was a total team effort tonight as evidenced by our distribution of points," head coach Liz Kritza said. "Sara had a 32-point performance, but it wasn't just her offense. She stabilized our passing and did a good job of leading our young team when the match was tight."
"Jen Linder had a stellar performance, with no errors, and came up with big points at crucial times," Kritza added. "Our setters did a good job of keeping our offense balanced, and Luna's 11 digs allowed us to continue plays and capitalize on our offensive strengths. Bridget turned it on in games three and four and it made quite a difference."
Game one featured 15 ties, including every point from 18 to 30 before Jen Linder blasted home the winner. Tulane hit .432 (20 of 37) in the first stanza. In game two, the Wave jumped out to an 8-3 lead before Southern Miss charged back to tie it at 17. Tied 28-28, USM scored back to back points for a 30-28 win. Tulane throttled the Eagles in game three, 30-23, hitting .393 (14 of 28). Tulane owned game four, out-hitting the Golden Eagles, .415 to .158.
Radosevic finished two off her season high of 31 kills against UNO on August 26, hitting .350 with a pair of service aces and seven digs.
For the match, the Green Wave hit .385, while holding Southern Miss to .231.
Angel Hlavaty recorded 18 kills for Southern Miss, which is now 13-15 overall, 5-8 C-USA.
The C-USA road trip continues for the Green Wave with a Sunday match at UCF at 12 p.m.
