2006 Baseball Media Information
Apr 26, 2006 | Baseball
The staff of the Tulane University Athletics Media Relations Office will be available throughout the 2006 baseball season to accommodate any media requests. Following are some guidelines that should make it easier for media members to cover the Green Wave baseball team. Any additional questions should be directed to Richie Weaver, Assistant Director of Media Relations.
PRESS CREDENTIALS
Credentials for all Tulane games are for working media only. Spouses, dates, children or other non-workers are not permitted in the working media areas in compliance with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Requests for media credentials should be made in writing on appropriate letterhead at least 48 hours prior to the game. Requests should be directed to Richie Weaver, Assistant Director of Media Relations. Requests from the media covering visiting teams will be confirmed with that team's media relations director. Credentials can be picked up at the Will Call window at Zephyr Field.
PHOTO CREDENTIALS
Only photographers on assignment and members of the television media will be given photo credentials. Accredited photographers are allowed on the field between the end of the dugout and the outfield wall and must stay in foul territory. Photographers may also have access to the roofs of the dugouts with advanced notice. The view of spectators may not be impeded by photographers.
AT THE GAME
In the aftermath of flooding caused by Hurricane Katrina, Zephyr Field in Metairie, La. will serve as the 2006 home stadium for the Tulane Green Wave. The Zephyr Field press box, located on the third level of the stadium, features booths for radio and television broadcasts. Tulane grants broadcasting rights to the official radio outlet of the visiting team on a reciprocal basis. If more than one phone line is needed, please contact Richie Weaver, Assistant Director of Media Relations.
GAME SERVICES
The Tulane Media Relations staff will be at your service throughout the game. All media will be provided with game programs, rosters, media guides, game notes and other pertinent information. Computer-generated statistics will be available at the conclusion of each game. Information provided includes play-by-play and individual and team statistics in standard NCAA box score format.
TELEPHONES
Long distance telephone lines are available in the press box. These phones require collect calls or a credit card for billing. Any special requests should be made at least two weeks prior to the game.
POST GAME INTERVIEWS
Head coach Rick Jones and requested players will be available to the media after each game following a 10-minute cooling down period. The Tulane clubhouse will not be open to the media. Each visiting team will set its own post-game policy.
INTERVIEW POLICY
All Tulane players and coaches will be available throughout the 2006 season for interviews with members of the news media. It is important, however, that all requests for interviews be made through the Tulane Athletics Media Relations Office at (504) 314-7232. This policy allows us to arrange a time that will not interfere with a student-athlete's academic schedule, which has top priority. No student-athlete's home phone number will not be released.
CALLING COACH JONES
The best way to reach head coach Rick Jones is through the Athletics Media Relations Office at (504) 314-7232.
CONFERNCE USA
Updated statistics, results and information on Conference USA and its member institutions are available on the conference's website at www.conferenceusa.com. The phone number for the conference office in Dallas is 214-774-1300.
