The clubhouse features three separate areas: a locker room/dressing area, coaches' locker room and a players' lounge equipped with surround sound.
The 2007 season marks the 10th season the Tulane team will call "The Mick" home. With all the amenities of a big-league locker room, the Mickey Retif clubhouse features a study area, oak-recessed lockers, card tables and a lounge area with sofas and chairs.
The clubhouse also features showering and bathroom facilities for both the coaches and players and recorded games so that players can review game tapes at their convenience.
The clubhouse is named in memory of Mickey Retif, a former Tulane player and coach. Retif, Jr. was a standout baseball player for the Green Wave from 1975-78 where he helped Tulane to a combined 105-53-2 record during his career, including a then-record 32-10 season in 1977.
At the conclusion of his playing career, Retif received his law degree and passed the bar in 1981. He remained active with the Green Wave as a part-time assistant, however, where he served from 1979-83.
Outside of the clubhouse, a plaque bearing Retif's likeness reads "The clubhouse stands in honor of the memory of Mickey Retif, whose actions on and off the field were indicative of the true mission of Tulane Athletics."
