Q: What attracted you to the job here at Tulane?
A: "I had been a college bowler for four years and I had such a great experience and it's something that's unique to America and I'd like to give back to women's bowling what I could take from it."
Q: Why Tulane?
A: "Tulane is a very prestigious university and I wanted to come somewhere that I knew would be a great success "
Q: You're starting a brand new program at Tulane and it's your first experience being a head coach. Do you feel any pressure or are you excited to make it your own?
A: "I am very excited to make the program my own. It's something I've always wanted to do since I started collegiate bowling and this is going to be a great year."
Q: What are you looking for in a student-athlete when it comes to recruitment?
A: "Someone who's dedicated and willing to learn."
Q: Are there any specific regions you're looking to recruit from?
A: "All over the U.S. but as the years progress, I'd like to go international."
Q: How will you start building the program?
A: "I'm building the program based on the experience I've had at two other colleges. A program not only is part physical, but it's a lot of it has to do with mental game and strength and conditioning."
Q: What are your short and long-term goals for the program?
A: "My short term goal is to get at least seven to ten bowlers for the first year. That's a good base. We're going to be competing in at least eight different tournaments the first year. Hopefully, as the years progress, the program will grow and be more successful."
Q: What are you most looking forward to?
A: "Meeting the girls and getting them started. Looking at their bowling and the very biggest thing is getting on the road and going to the tournaments."
Q: How do you prepare for a bowling tournament?
A: "Before you go to a bowling tournament, we're going to be bowing on a lot on different lane conditions that they're likely to see at these tournaments. "Rock N Bowl" is nice enough to put these lane conditions out for us so we can actually practice with them. That will give us an advantage going in to them. It's not just doing that but also getting the bowling balls, having the right bowling balls in the bag to be able to bowl in these lane conditions."
Q:How do you feel about your competition venue, "Rock N Bowl?"
A: "'Rock N Bowl' is great. They've been so helpful so far and to have the opportunity to be able to go in there and bowl during the mornings and before they're even open is going to be a huge asset to the team."
Q: Can you describe your coaching style?
A: "I'm very laid back. I like to have the input from the students. I'm not a dictator at all. It's a two-way conversation and I like the girls to be able to work together as a team and to be able to communicate a lot on the lanes."
