NEW ORLEANS – With four meets down, Tulane cross country will head to Indiana this weekend to close out the regular season at the ISU Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute. The meet, one of the largest in the country, will take place at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course, the same location of the NCAA National Championships in November.
The women will compete in the 6K at 10:00 a.m. CT against 40 teams, including eight opponents in the USTFCCCA top 30. Juniors Emma Newton and Lauren Bartels will lead the pack on Saturday after helping Tulane to a seventh-place team finish their last time out. Seven other Green Wave women will also compete in the race.
The Tulane men, who follow in the 8K at 11:50 a.m. CT, will race against 20 opponent teams. Tulane will look to sophomore Emmanuel Rotich on the men's side. Rotich has four consecutive top-two finishes under his belt and broke a school record in the 8K in his last race, leading his teammates to an eighth-place overall finish. Rotich will be joined by five other Tulane runners in the 8K.
The Green Wave, who did not run last weekend, last competed at the Stanford Cross Country Invitational in California on Oct. 1.
Live video of the race will be streamed here. Live results can be found here as they become available.
