NEW ORLEANS – Following a five-day hiatus, the Tulane men's basketball team will travel to Atlanta for a road tilt at Georgia Tech on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and available on ESPN3/WatchESPN.
Storylines:
• Following a six-day hiatus between contests, Tulane plays the fourth of six-straight games away from its friendly confines and its first true road game of the season when it travels to Atlanta for Saturday's contest at Georgia Tech.
• The Green Wave face a Josh Pastner-coached team for the 10th time since the 2009-10 campaign - his first at the helm of Memphis' program. Tulane faced Pastner three times last season, which included a 12-point road loss, and a seven-point overtime home win, before falling to the Tigers, 74-54, in the semifinals of the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship.
• Tulane plays its second Atlantic Coast Conference opponent of the season has played at least one opponent from that league in each of the last six seasons. The Green Wave's last victory over an ACC team was a 57-52 decision against Georgia Tech on Dec. 3, 2011 in New Orleans.
• Tulane has won its first true road game of the season in two of the last three years. The Green Wave faced the Yellow Jackets in its first road contest of the 2012-13 campaign, but suffered a 79-61 defeat.
The Opponent:
Georgia Tech will play its fifth home game in a row to start the season as it continues year one of the Josh Pastner era. Despite their lone setback against Ohio, the Yellow Jackets own victories over Tennessee Tech, Southern and, most recently, Sam Houston State on Tuesday evening. Ben Lammers scored 19 points to complement eight rebounds and six blocks to push his average to six per game which leads the nation. Josh Okogie had 16 points and Tadric Jackson scored 15 for the Jackets, who led 40-20 at halftime before the Bearkats pulled as close as eight points, 55-47, with 8:49 left.
The Series:
Saturday's matchup marks the 71st all-time meeting between Tulane and Georgia Tech, with the latter leading the series, 37-33. The head-to-head history between the programs dates back more than one century, as the teams first met in 1909 when both were members of the SEC. The Green Wave has lost its last two contests against the Yellow Jackets, including a 76-68 defeat in New Orleans last December. Tulane's last win in Atlanta came in a 79-68 triumph on Dec. 23, 2001.
