NEW ORLEANS --Tulane's bowling team will have two more new faces come this fall, as head coach Hayley Veitch announced Monday morning that the team has signed Joanna Hackett and Isabelle Lee to National Letters of Intent.
"These two ladies complete an awesome signing class, and I am excited to welcome them to our bowling family," said Veitch. "They both come with a lot of talent, experience and dedication, and I envision them making a big impact on the team immediately."
Hackett hails from London, England. She will graduate from Saint John Bosco College this spring, and will come into Tulane majoring in Engineering Physics. Her father, Patrick Hackett, has been her primary coach since she started bowling at the age of five. Hackett has brought home medals from the World Sports Festival, the Triple Crown singles and doubles tour and every Junior Nationals event since she was six. She also first competed in the U19 Masters tournament when she was 12, and held the number one ranking at the 2014 Bowling Combine.
Lee comes to New Orleans from Singapore, joining Tulane phenom Michelle Ng in that regard. She graduated from Millennia Institute in 2015, having bowled there for three years. Since 2008, she has competed on a national level in numerous age group championships, all-star tournaments and international events, adding many championship and second place trophies to her credit.
