NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's basketball team will play the second of back-to-back American Athletic Conference road games when it travels to Storrs, Conn., for its lone regular-season meeting with Connecticut on Saturday, Jan. 28. Opening tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT) at Gampel Pavilion.

Tulane Quick Notes:
• The Green Wave also played UCF just one time this season which resulted in a 13-point home defeat in its league opener on Dec. 28.
• UConn Head Coach Kevin Ollie's final playing season in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2009-10 was also the final season Mike Dunleavy, Sr., coached in the league, ending his seven-year tenure as Head Coach and General Manager of the Los Angeles Clippers.
• Redshirt junior Cameron Reynolds ranks fifth The American in scoring (15.6), sixth in three-point field goals made (43), eighth in minutes (34.3) and 10th in free throw percentage (.767).
• Sophomore Kain Harris is second in the conference in free throw percentage (.848), sophomore Melvin Frazier is third in the league in steals per game (1.6) and senior Ryan Smith is sixth in field goal percentage (.527) and tied for eighth in blocks per game (1.4).

THE OPPONENT
• Despite starting conference play with three-straight losses, Connecticut (9-11, 4-4 AAC) enters Saturday's contest a winner in back-to-back games and four of its last five following an 81-60 road win at USF on Wednesday night.
• The Huskies rank second in the conference in blocks (5.8), third in defensive rebounding (26.7) and fifth in assists (13.5), field goal percentage defense (.393) and three-point field goal defense (.327).
• Jalen Adams leads the league in assists per game (6.7) and Amida Brimah tops all players in blocks per game (2.9), while Kentan Facey stands fourth in field goal percentage (.556). Rodney Purvis (36.7) ranks first in minutes per game (36.7) and Adams is a close second (36.5).

THE SERIES
• Saturday's matchup marks the fifth all-time meeting between the programs with Connecticut leading the series, 4-0.
• The teams last met Jan. 19, 2016 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., where the Huskies cruised to a 60-42 victory just 17 days after escaping New Orleans with a 75-67 triumph. Tulane lost its only previous game in Storrs during its inaugural year in The American, suffering a 67-60 setback on Feb. 22, 2015.

LAST TIME OUT
• Malik Morgan led the Green Wave with 13 points, while Cameron Reynolds tallied his third double-double of the season and second in as many road games with 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, but Tulane was unable to bounce back from a slow start shooting from the field and suffered a 65-51 loss at Houston on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
• Ryan Smith also reached double-figures with 10 points and six boards, but Tulane scored a season-low 51 points. Despite outscoring the Cougars, 35-34, in the second half, the Green Wave finished the night shooting 18-for-59 (.305) overall, 5-for-23 (.217) beyond the three-point line and 10-for-18 (.556) at the foul stripe.
• Damyean Dotson led Houston (14-7, 5-4 AAC) with 20 points and nine rebounds, while Rob Gray added 12 points and Armoni Brooks chipped in 11 more. The Cougars owned a 16-8 scoring edge off turnovers and 15-10 off the bench while holding a 44-37 margin on the glass.
