NEW ORLEANS - Tulane swimming & diving will begin the New Year in its own water and hosts Alabama on Friday, Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Reily Center Natatorium.
The Green Wave's last time in the pool was at home on Dec. 3 against LSU for Senior Day resulted in four combined top-three finishes, but the Tigers won by a 161-79 margin. Senior Joy Jason swam to a third-place finish in the 100 breast (1:05.76) and was part of Tulane's 400 medley relay team, which included classmate Ellie Sills, that finished third (3:50.64). Sills finished third in the 200 IM (2:08.82) and third in the 100 fly (56.88). Freshman Morgan Tacik continued her impressive season with a first place finish in the 1000 free (10:19.40) and a first place finish in the 500 free (5:02.72).
Tulane last went head-to-head with the Crimson Tide on Oct. 29, 2011 when the Green Wave made the road trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., but was defeated by a 208-90 margin. Alabama has won all 11 previous meetings since the first during the 1979-80 campaign.
