"We did a lot of good things, a lot of guys who have not played before in the building came out here and did a nice job," head coach Mike Dunleavy, Sr. said. "Also our two transfers, Jordan and Samir, gave us strong minutes. Cam, as usual, came through with a big game for us."
The first half was a tight affair until Tulane pulled in front by double digits, 35-23, with 2:13 remaining. LSU cut the deficit to eight as the Green Wave took a 37-29 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.
Tulane shot 7 of 11 from the field to start the second half and pushed its lead to 52-42 at the 11:59 mark. The Tigers were able to pull within three, 63-60, with five minutes left, but drew no closer as the Green Wave pushed forward by shooting 56 percent in the final 20 minutes to close out the 10-point victory.
LSU was led by Duop Reath's game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds, as Wayde Sims contributed 10 points and 11 boards. Skylar Mays scored 18 of his 19 points in the second half.
