Angry Wave World Series Rosters
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane baseball head coach Travis Jewett has announced the rosters and start times for the inaugural Angry Wave World Series, which runs Nov. 10-19 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Â
The Angry Wave World Series is a seven-game instraquad series that culminates the Tulane fall ball workouts. Each game will last seven innings, except for Wednesday, Nov. 15, which will be a five-inning contest.
Â
Game times for the Angry Wave World Series are: 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10; 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11-12; 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15; 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17; 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18; 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. In between scrimmage days, the Green Wave will train at 3 p.m. each day, taking an off day on Monday. All Tulane baseball fall workouts and scrimmages are open to the public.
Â
"I think the players have worked hard from the get-go to where we are now," Jewett said. "This is a fun event for them to look forward to, and yet it's an opportunity to put an exclamation point on a lot of these guys' individual performances this fall heading into the offseason. I like the way the teams have matched up, and we look forward to hopefully a seven-game series. I'm just looking for the guys to enjoy the moment, and get into a competitive environment and see what they can do."
Â
The Green Wave split into two teams – Green and White – each led by two upperclassmen captains and two coaches, which held a draft to determine their squads.
Â
The Green team, which won a coin toss for home advantage, is led by captains Matt Rowland and Ross Massey, head coach Travis Jewett and student assistant Jarret DeHart. The White team is led by captains Sam Bjorngjeld and Grant Witherspoon and assistant coaches Eddie Smith and Brian Harris. Pitching coach Tighe Dickinson will serve as pitching coach for both teams.
